SHELLFISH & EEL
ON THE OCEANSIDE
With more than 7300 km of coast it is natural that the sea has always been an important part of the Danes’ diet. A large number of regional dishes testify that the eel has been a delicacy across the country for a long time, and the smoked version with scrambled eggs has almost become a national dish. Nor is our enthusiasm for shellfish new. Several findings from our earlier Stone Age testify that we were consumed shellfish happily this early. In Denmark you are never more than 50 km from the coast. At Schønnemann you are even closer.
